To all SEMDA customers.
Dear Rotarians, Rotaractors, ladies
and gentlemen
In July you got a message about the planned change of ownership of the intellectual property of the SEMDA product. We are glad to inform you that this has been successfully completed. SEMDA product and name are now owned by ARM - Association Rotary Media
Switzerland / Liechtenstein.
The operation of SEMDA 2.0 remains still in Sweden under control of Kent Vesterberg until the new product 3.0 will be deployed and productively used. The new project SEMDA 3.0 has been launched and
Kent is working with us on this project.
As promised, SEMDA 3.0 will be also available to customers NOT using Polaris. But because it is developed in the same infrastructure
and by the same people
as Polaris, we take the advantage of this platform and send you from now on our communication through this channel.
In our announcement in July, we gave you a rough schedule of the project. In the mean time we had several meetings with the IT management of Rotary International. It seems that RI will introduce a new integration services in the same time. Unfortunately this makes our project quite difficult. It has impact not only on the way how do we communicate to RI, but also on our new API. Considering the current situation we made a re-planing and set the following milestones:
- We will publish the new API on 1. March 2024. As we said, it will be an OpenAPI and it will be published in SwaggerHub.
- The test-bed will be available on 3. June 2024. From then on you will be able to run your tests.
- The productive use will start on 5. August 2024. The test-bed will remain available after this time point.
- We expect that the SEMDA 2.0 solution will stay available until October 2024
We will keep you informed about our progress and other news round SEMDA.
Please read the attached document describing the validation, which must be carried out in your local membership system (CMS). Our suggestion is that you start adding these rules into your CMS already now.
Especially important are these rules:
Future dates and 30-days ruleĀ
Adding or
Terminating members in future is NOT allowed in RI and you should implement this test in your CMS. Same is for
the 30-days rules. RI does NOT accept Enter date/Exit date older than 30
days back.
Members email as Login in My Rotary
As we
mentioned many times in the past, SEMDA cannot change email
address of a member if this is used for his/her Login to MyRotary (OnLine email). Only the member itself can do
this in MyRotary or by sending request to RI.
In this case SEMDA is
sending email (error message nr. 65)
to the member and to the club, contain
instructions how to act and how a request to RI data department for fixing the
problem should be sent. But the
member receiving this message may not understand it and need your help.
Please don't let him/her alone and help him/her.
